Karmic Numerology: What Do We Bring Into This Life?

There is one idea in karmic numerology that I particularly like: we come into this world with everything we need to make this life a success.

Of course, that doesn’t mean we are guaranteed wealth, perfect relationships and eternal happiness. We still have to make our own choices, learn from our mistakes and, quite often, work considerably harder than we would prefer.

But according to karmic numerology, we are born with a very particular combination of talents, abilities, challenges and opportunities. And there is a reason for that.

The Concept of Karma and Reincarnation

The method is based on the belief that our souls go through multiple incarnations, each providing an opportunity for further spiritual development.

The choices we made in previous lives have consequences. Some experiences may have left unresolved lessons, which we encounter again in our present incarnation.

I know that the word karma makes some people rather nervous. It is often associated with punishment, suffering and paying for terrible things we supposedly did in a previous life. But I was taught a much more positive understanding of it.

The Higher Powers have no interest in seeing us fail. Quite the opposite.

According to this philosophy, each incarnation is an opportunity to develop spiritually, correct previous mistakes and reach a higher-frequency state of being. The ultimate purpose is to live a fulfilling, happy life in accordance with our true purpose.

And we are given the necessary resources to accomplish this.

Imagine that in a previous incarnation a person misused authority, becoming excessively controlling or even tyrannical. In this life, they may once again possess remarkable leadership abilities. The challenge is to learn to exercise power responsibly, respect other people’s freedom and use their talents to create something valuable.

The same energy that once contributed to their mistakes can now become their greatest strength.

This is what we call moving an energy from its negative manifestation, or minus, into its positive manifestation, or plus.

I find this concept particularly appealing because it gives us something constructive to work towards. There is no reason to spend your life feeling guilty about mistakes you cannot even remember making.

The interesting part is understanding which lessons you are here to learn and what resources you have been given to succeed.

 

How Does Karmic Numerology Work?

The system uses your date of birth and a set of mathematical calculations associated with the 22 archetypal energies of the Major Arcana of Tarot.

In the tradition I study, two complementary methods are used: the Personal Matrix and the Karmic Star.

The Personal Matrix reveals the energies assigned to you at birth and the relationships between them. It describes your natural talents, abilities, personality traits and karmic challenges. Each energy has positive and negative manifestations, and the same quality may be expressed very differently depending on how consciously we use it.

Take a person with strong leadership energy.

• In its positive expression, it may produce confidence, responsibility, excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to inspire others.
• In its negative expression, the same energy can manifest as arrogance, rigidity, excessive control and an inability to trust anyone.

Perhaps you recognise both versions in yourself. Most of us are perfectly capable of demonstrating our best and worst qualities, sometimes within the same afternoon.

The point of the analysis is to understand which energies are present, how they interact and what helps bring them into their most constructive expression.

The Karmic Star: A More Detailed Look at Your Life

The Karmic Star is a separate method that complements the Personal Matrix and takes the analysis considerably further.

It examines five major areas of life: personality, spirituality, money and career, relationships, and health.

Here we investigate how a person’s karmic energies and lessons manifest in each particular sphere, what might be limiting their potential and what could help them achieve the best possible results.

For example, someone may be naturally ambitious and highly capable of managing a business, yet repeatedly encounter financial difficulties. Another person might be successful in their career but struggle to establish a happy relationship.

The Karmic Star allows us to examine these areas separately, including the relevant energies, potential obstacles and recommendations for their positive expression.

I particularly appreciate that the method pays attention to spiritual development alongside material success. After all, earning a fortune is hardly a complete definition of a successful life if everything else is falling apart.

Why I Use Karmic Numerology in Deep Pattern Mapping

I am particularly interested in situations where someone has been struggling with the same problem for years, despite making genuine efforts to change things.

• Perhaps you repeatedly find yourself in relationships where you carry all the responsibility.
• Perhaps you have considerable abilities but never quite manage to realise your professional ambitions.
• Or you seem to encounter the same conflicts with completely different people.

In my Deep Pattern Mapping work, I use karmic numerology to investigate the underlying configuration of energies and karmic lessons that may be relevant to these experiences.

The Personal Matrix provides the foundation. The Karmic Star offers a detailed examination of different life areas and possible ways to develop their potential.

I can then use Tarot and other esoteric methods to investigate specific circumstances, clarify interpretations and explore possible actions.

What makes this method valuable to me is the opportunity to look at an entire life through a coherent system, identify connections worth exploring and develop practical recommendations.

And perhaps the most important message of karmic numerology is that we are not expected to spend our lives suffering through our karmic lessons.

We are here to learn, develop our abilities, make better choices and become happier, more conscious versions of ourselves.

If the Higher Powers have already provided us with the necessary resources, it would be rather unfortunate never to discover what they are.
